Arlington Convention &
Visitors Bureau, 1997 – 1998
Challenge:
  • Expand tourism in Arlington - which was primarily day trips and summer
    overnight stays to visit major attractions
  • Needed to develop marketing opportunities that would lead to new
    distribution channels

Solution:  
  • Developed and executed leisure travel package that provided one-stop
    shopping for the customer and easy access for the travel agent - including
    a choice of multiple hotels and attractions
  • Created an integrated marketing plan that addressed consumers and
    travel agents - opening the new distribution channel of the travel agent
    community

Results:
  • Laid the foundation for achieving the long-term vision of the Arlington CVB
    as a year-round leisure travel destination
  • Increased awareness among hotel partners on how to work with tour
    operators
