Challenge:
- Expand tourism in Arlington - which was primarily day trips and summer
overnight stays to visit major attractions
- Needed to develop marketing opportunities that would lead to new
distribution channels
Solution:
- Developed and executed leisure travel package that provided one-stop
shopping for the customer and easy access for the travel agent - including a choice of multiple hotels and attractions
- Created an integrated marketing plan that addressed consumers and
travel agents - opening the new distribution channel of the travel agent community
Results:
- Laid the foundation for achieving the long-term vision of the Arlington CVB
as a year-round leisure travel destination
- Increased awareness among hotel partners on how to work with tour
operators
